Integrated Bahasa Indonesia

Living in Indonesia without worrying to be lost in translation, this program surely is a good start. Covering all the language skills required, you will create no barriers communicating with the locals, enhancing your business, or simply just behaving "locally".

With enriched and improved learning materials, this program aims to enable the participants grasping the language comprehensively focusing to both writing and speaking skill. This program is a balance between written and spoken activities, varying from role-play, games, grammar exercises, and written assignment.


There are 8 levels of competence in this program. Each level lasts for 30 hours. Below are details of each level :

Beginner A (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to make the participants able to conduct simple basic conversation in Bahasa Indonesia and to understand ideas delivered by Indonesian native speaker. You will learn:
      a.    How to conduct simple basic conversation in daily situation, e.g.: self-introduction,
             numbers, question words, like and dislike, noun phrase, buying and selling, etc.
      b.    Language functions: greeting, thanking and apologizing, etc.
      c.    Cultural notes along with the specific words.

Beginner B (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to make the participants able to produce simple sentences in daily situation. You will learn:
     a.    How to conduct simple conversation in daily situations, e.g.: comparison, modals,
            imperative, introduction to prefix "me-" and "ber-", etc.
     b.    Language functions : frequency, asking and giving opinion
     c.    How to write and read short texts with simple structures and expressions.
 
Pre-Intermediate A (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to enable the participants to construct correct sentences based on standardized Bahasa Indonesia and use common expression for particular situation. You will learn :
     a.    How to produce more complex sentences
     b.    Affixes : prefix "me-" & "ber-", prefix "pe-", suffix "–an".
     c.    Language Functions : giving advice, expressing disbelief, expressing sympathy
     d.    Complex conjunctions

Pre-Intermediate B (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to accustom the participants to producing complex sentences based  on standardized Bahasa Indonesia, using appropriate expressions and understanding simple texts. You will learn :
     a.    How to produce more complex sentences
     b.    Affixes : "me-kan", "me-i"
     c.    Language Functions: expressing annoyance and shock, phone conversation
     d.    Passive voice

Intermediate A (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to enable the participants to produce sophisticated sentences, to understand texts, and to write simple reports in Bahasa Indonesia. You will learn:
     a.    How to produce mo sophisticated sentences based on Bahasa Indonesia grammar
     b.    How to write simple report and personal journal
     c.    Affixes: konfixes ("pe-an", "per-an")

Intermediate B (30 hours)
The objective of this level is to accustom the participants to generate more sophisticated sentences, to understand more complex texts and narrations, and to write reports, journals in  Bahasa Indonesia. You will learn:
     a.    How to write an ad and an application letter
     b.    How to conduct an interview in a specific situation
     c.    Affixes: "ke-an"
     d.    Reduplication

Advanced A (30 hours)
The objective of the level is to enable the participants to use Bahasa Indonesia in specific matters (presentation, discussion/debate, understanding newspaper articles, writing articles and short  stories in Bahasa Indonesia). You will learn:
     a.    How to conduct discussion and debate with chosen topics
     b.    Literary Expressions
     c.    Affixes : "memper"-, "memper-kan", "memper-i"

Advance B (30 hours)
The objective of the level is to accustom the participants to use Bahasa Indonesia in every situation effectively, e.g. writing articles and stories in Bahasa Indonesia. You will learn:
     a.    How to understand Indonesian literary works
     b.    How to write an article and short story
     c.    Affixes : "ber-an", "ber-kan"
